Powder Coated Tough Mark How to Become a PCI Member
Company Membership

A Positive Force for Your Business

The Powder Coating Institute is the only trade association dedicated to promotion and development of the fast-growing powder coating industry.

The PCI mission is to serve the North American powder coating industry, promoting powder coating technology and communicating the benefits of powder coating to manufacturers, consumers, and government. PCI accomplishes its mission through the support and active participation of its member companies. This cooperation allows PCI to accomplish far more as an industry group than could be done through the efforts of individual businesses.

Here are ways in which PCI membership will benefit you...

Communications

The PCI Member Newsletter provides timely information on industry news as well as PCI programs and activities.

The PCI Information Brochure lists all member companies and brief descriptions of their products and services. This is sent in response to thousands of manufacturers and potential customers interested in sources of materials, equipment, or services.

PCI is a reference and information source for the trade press and the consumer media, educating them on the advantages of powder coating and providing them information on the latest technology.

PCI's National Advertising Campaign reaches beyond the finishing magazines with full-color ads promoting the advantages of powder coating in publications reaching current and potential end users. Respondents to these ads receive a packet of information that includes the PCI information brochure listing PCI members.

Mailing lists of everyone contacting PCI for powder coating information are circulated to PCI members.

The Powder Coated Mark Program provides a symbol designed to identify powder coated products to industries and consumers. As support and recognition for the Mark continues to grow, the Mark will provide support to powder coating users and encourage market growth.

Technical Support

PCI sponsors seminars and workshops each year educating both beginner and advanced powder coaters on powder coating materials, equipment, and the application process, including hands-on training.

PCI members receive Technical Briefs and Test Procedures that are developed by PCI committees and deal with specific technical issues and test methods important to the industry.

Members also receive special discounts on a variety of technical materials produced by PCI. These include the comprehensive Powder Coating Handbook, powder coating visual smoothness standards, and the PCI Troubleshooting Slide Set and Troubleshooting Guide.

Industry Statistics

Participating PCI member companies receive quarterly reports on sales and production statistics profiling the industry, information that helps members in effective business planning.

Government Relations

PCI members receive continual information about legislative and regulatory matters that could affect their business, as PCI works with other trade associations on matters of mutual interest and represents the industry before government agencies.

Meetings, Conferences, and Trade Shows

The annual PCI POWDER COATING Trade Show and Technical Conference is the world's only trade show devoted exclusively to the powder coating industry, and is the largest finishing show in North America, where exhibitors market their products and services to end users.

The technical conference and workshop sessions provide broad educational opportunities for member companies and powder coaters.

The PCI Annual Meeting, open to PCI company members only, is an opportunity to meet and exchange views with your peers and colleagues in the powder coating industry. Also featured are informative guest speakers addressing topics of importance to the industry.

Committees and Staff

Representatives of member companies are always encouraged to contribute expertise to committees that focus on communications, custom coaters, trade show, membership, and technical issues, and other work of the Institute.

A high level of member participation has allowed the PCI staff to remain small and focused on the critical concerns of the association, working directly with the committees to accomplish important tasks.
