Rodger Talbert began his career in coatings in 1976 working for a company that does custom coating and metal fabrication. He also worked for a company that designs and builds coating systems for seven years. He started his own business, R. Talbert Consulting Inc., in 1993.

Rodger has taught "Powder Coating" and "Finishing System Design & Operation" at Grand Rapids Community College, where he designed and implemented a Finishing Technician Certificate program and published six training manuals for paint pretreatment, liquid coating, electrocoating and powder coating classes. He is the editor of "The Powder Coater’s Manual" and he is a member of the Technical Advisory Committee for the Iowa Waste Reduction Center. He also conducts periodic training workshops in powder coating, liquid coating spray technique, and systems design. Rodger received his education in Business Administration at Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He has written and presented numerous technical papers for SME/AFP, PCI and CCAI. He has contributed to the SME Design for Manufacturing handbook on the subject of powder coating and is a contributor to the PCI Powder Coating Manual, The Complete Finishers Handbook.

As Executive Director and former Technical Director for PCI, Rodger also directs all technical services including the design of new systems for powder coating, liquid spray coating and electrodeposition. He will continue to act as the technical liaison between PCI and the market place, focusing on training and education.

Brett Ryden has spent over 20 years in publishing and marketing and over 10 years working on numerous coating magazines. He has worked on trade as well as consumer magazines both domestic and internationally. In the 1990’s, he ran his own publishing company before joining BNP Media in 1998. In 2001, he was given the publisher position at Industrial Paint & Powder magazine before leaving for the opportunity to run The Powder Coating Institute’s start-up called Powder Coated Tough magazine in 2006.

Brett has written numerous articles and drives the editorial direction of Powder Coated Tough magazine. He received his Business Administration degree in Marketing from the University of Evansville. Brett also attended Harlaxton College in England and graduated from the Stanford University Professional Publishing Course in 2003.

As the Director of Publishing & Marketing for PCI, Brett directs and coordinates all of the business and staff aspects of Powder Coated Tough magazine. He is responsible for adverting and does photo shoots for almost every issue including numerous cover shots. Brett also works directly with the chairperson for the Industry Communications Committee. Brett will work with PCI and the market place to grow and spread the benefits of powder coating.


Jennifer Egan, Program Director

Jennifer Egan has eight years of experience in the powder coating industry working with one of the world’s leading coating companies. In her previous role, she was responsible for global marketing efforts, coordinating events, trade shows, developing marketing collateral, leading the customer satisfaction initiative, and in her most recent role, served as marketing specialist for the liquid coatings division. Jennifer has also earned her Six Sigma Greenbelt, completing several greenbelt projects as well as received her Bachelor’s of Business degree at Sam Houston State University.

As Program Director, Jennifer is responsible for all programs associated with The Powder Coating Institute such as trade shows, annual meetings, committee meetings, training workshops and other PCI events. She is also accountable for developing and managing market intelligence for the powder coating industry as well as the development of marketing and PCI promotional materials.


Mike Wittenhagen, Technical Manager

  Mike has over 16 years of experience in the powder coating industry doing a variety of important      
  jobs. From 1994-1997, he worked for a large OEM in the Chicago area as the Process Facilitator with  responsibility for taking care of all maintenance of the powder paint line including all powder, steel,          and chemical processes.

  He joined the DuPont organization on January 29, 1997 with the technical service group in Houston,     Texas. He has broad experience in customer site line audits, troubleshooting, training seminars,  
  certification testing, laboratory product testing, and more. He was promoted to the Hilliard, Ohio
  facility as Technical Support Site Manager in 1999 where he played a critical role in building their        
  technical presence in a more centralized location. He has held a number of important positions for DuPont including responsibility for the site's ISO Management System, for developing and managing an incoming Quality Control for finished products. In 2006, he was promoted to Technical & Customer Sales Support Manager based in Houston, Texas. In 2009, he was assigned to a position as Quality Systems Manager in Houston, TX.

As Technical Manager, Mike handles the PCI lab activities as well as PCI's training programs, certification audits, and many other technical activities of the Institute.

Ginny joins PCI with over a decade experience in administrative office and marketing support, from answering phones to organization of events and systems for managing business needs. An accomplished professional, she has supported senior and executive level offices under corporate communications, marketing, accounting, customer relations, technical development and human resources.

Taking a break from work, she stayed home to focus on her family for two years. She returned to work in a large corporate environment in the oil and gas industry, but shortly desired her commitment to family and to balance it with work. Ginny found her match at The Powder Coating Institute with an exciting opportunity to use her skills to assist the office and marketing needs. She is eager to learn about the industry in powder coatings, and is looking for innovative ways to market our mission and research networking opportunities for potential members. She uses communication, her strong analytical drive, and focus in optimization to shape traditional tasks and get results. Ginny looks forward to learning the industry and supporting The Powder Coating Institute and its members.
