Powder coating is known for being both a more forgiving medium than counterparts like industrial paint, as well as a medium that offers a more consistent coating. Coaters still know, however, that rework is often required on powder coated parts because application methods can sometimes still be relatively imprecise or inaccurate.

This webinar discussed the multiple ways in which 3D vision and perception can and have been applied to powder coating. These contexts include (but are not limited to) (1) human beings with natural 3D vision and the limitations they may experience in coating operations, (2) solutions like dynamic contouring in automated coating booths and (3) 3D depth vision for robotic coating processes.
